Henry's Birthday Party

So 'twas the occasion of Henry's fourth birthday party.

Being almost grown-up he was a very good host and made sure that all the children had a party-bag to go home with.
Henry didn't get a party-bag.
It was explained to him that as it was his party, he didn't get one.

I wouldn't have stood for it, but H took it on the chin.

I think the real reason he didn't get one was that more children turned up than were expected. It could be that some people don't know what RSVP means any more, although the parent of one replied that they would be on holiday and couldn't come. They turned up too.

Poor Henry - no party bag. Still, there is the small comfort of opening forty presents later.
