Retro Choccy Cake

I've made this cake since I was about nine. I got the recipe off an old recipe card. My mum collected the things at one point...no idea where they are now but I used to used them for cookery lessons. This one, I've made so many times over the years it's now committed to memory.

After working so late yesterday, today has been a restful and cook-y sort of day. Noodles and I have made teacakes for toasting, chocolate cake for scoffing and spaghetti bolognese for supper.

H will be pleased when he gets home (he's practising for the local music festival at the moment). Spag bol followed by chocolate cake fills his little cup of happiness to the brim. He's easily pleased my son.
