Cloudy and overcast
I didn't care about the clouds, it was fine and Charlie had a chance to run around without any distractions or dangers. I really needed to get some fresh air after an unpleasant experience in the jobcentre.
I was feeling a bit 'womans things, don't come near' but when you have to speak to someone who's job title is Advisor but has never given you any advice, and then tries to impart blame when she was entirely responsible for one issue, it does not make for a good encounter. When I knew I had to see her, I said to the lady who dealt with me last, "Oh, no, she always makes me feel really miserable," she replied, "I'm not allowed to say, but you're not the only one." She rolled her eyes at the mere mention of the 'advisor'. Why are people like this still in jobs? If you can't do anything to help, advise or encourage, surely your performance should be evaluated, found wanting and you're replaced with someone competent?
After asking repeatedly in the past for help with CV's, interview techniques etc, just to give me a fighting chance in time of high unemployment, and not being given ANY information, she told me yesterday about an organisation who could do all those things free, and they were only around the corner! Why aren't people given this information BEFORE despair sets in?
I walked there straight away and the lady I spoke to there was absolutely lovely, to the extent that I started sobbing and used most of her tissue supply! I have an appointment with them next week, and with a bit of luck, they'll be able to help me see the wood from the trees.
Looking for work is hard enough, it doesn't need to be made harder.
