On Walnut Avenue
It's about a fifteen minute walk from our house to downtown, and the route to the library and the coffee shops includes this particular street, which is lined with elaborately painted old houses. That's reason enough to be a favorite for me, but in the summer the tall trees provide the most delicious thick green shade, something I treasure from back east but which I don't find here very often.
And although I've passed by these gorgeous ladies many many times a week for years and years, the foliage and the cars usually parked out front make it quite difficult to get a good full image of each building. The Historic District bills this one as a Queen Anne cottage, built in 1885. I count five colors.
