Favourite tree

This is my favourite tree.
Sorry I couldn't decorate it with a brilliant sunrise - there wasn't one today.
But sometimes on grey days you get this really lovely almost-monochrome. And, for me, that's the point - it could be a BW shot, but actually there is colour in there, only very subtle. The colour of sap rising.
And if there had been a sparkling sunrise, we'd all have looked at that and sidelined the tree itself.
For those who want to know, it's a mature sweet chestnut. I see it from my bedroom window (where this shot was taken). It featured in my first blip, but only as background, so I thought today I'd do a portrait just of it.
