Upper Clyde Shipbuilders
Well I survived the three weeks of chaos that's called Celtic Connections! Not sure about my feet though, they're louping as we say up here.
Tonight's show was a celebration remembering the Upper Clyde Shipbuilders work-in 40 years ago. They stood up to the government of the time with dignity, pride and right on their side. If they hadn't, well I'm sure they'd be no shipbuilding on the River Clyde these days.
Some of the veterans were in the audience listening to rousing protest songs sung by the likes of Dick Gaughin and Jimmie MacGregor while the powerful speeches from 1971/2 by the likes of Jimmy Reid were spoken by David Hayman.
A powerful show to end Celtic Connections.
