Sotavento Condominiums

We attended an open house for the Sotavento condos which are being constructed on Playa La Ropa out of the old Sotavento hotel. While the show condo was beautifully appointed and had a stunning view of the beach, I was more taken by the construction methods employed on this 101-room project. Here is a shot of the soon-to-be parking garage showing the primitive ladder used to access the second floor. The various health and safety agencies in the United States would never stand for such a non-standard ladder, but this type of construction appliance is used extensively throughout Zihuatanejo with no apparent adverse effect.
