In Search of the White Stuff... We Must Be Mad!
After yesterdays day in, we decided to venture out for a wee drive. After some debate we 'agreed' to head up to the Devils Punchbowl, which is about halfway up the A3 towards London. As we headed away from the coast, we saw hints of that severe weather that had been forecast over the previous 24 hours or so. Emma wasn't too keen so we diverted to Winchester for a wander round and some lunch. Immediately after we turned West, there was a protest from the cheap seats in the back that we should have stuck with our plan to go up to Hindhead.... all so that we could have a snowball fight.
After lunch in Winchester, and the same mouthy protester suggesting that he could buy an Android tablet with his pocket money, we decided to head up to Hindhead. As I said before, we had been expecting snow all over the country, but only had rain in Portsmouth. Up in deepest Surrey, they had certainly had their fair share. Oliver enjoyed a cheeky snowball fight, Megan was a little bemused by all this 'white stuff', and I think even Emma enjoyed it for a while. That was until........
We were stuck in traffic just five miles short of being back home due to a 'police incident'. Pompey locals will know what I'm on about. Then just as I was about to give Megan her tea, she reminded us that perhaps she hadn't quite recovered from her bug from earlier in the week. Perhaps another day at home might just have been easier all round, but dont mention that to Emma.
