729/365 They Walk The Earth...

Yet another night shot; this one is of one of the two biggest cranes in Belfast's former ship yard. I'm not sure if it is Samson or Goliath; both now protected monuments. This shot was taken across the Sydenham Rd which was built especially wide so that sections of the larger ships built by Harland & Wolff could be transported easily before being assembled elsewhere in the ship yard. Not much remains of the original ship yard other than bits and pieces like this section of wall which looks like it was a pedestrian entrance to the works, long since disused.

The original shot is, as usual, a horrible shade of yellowing orange which makes this black and white conversion look very noisy!
