Thawing snow
Well the snow was never going to last very long....
We drove to the gym this morning and the small roads were a bit slippery but the main roads were fine. All around, you could hear the snow falling out of the trees and the sound of melting snow dripping into drains. Very small class for Body Pump though.
Pottered round the garden looking for something snowy to blip but it had already melted from most of the plants. The leaves of the daffodils and bluebells were sticking out of the snowy blanket. The hellebores and penstemons have been completely flattened under the weight of snow. I liked the colours and shapes in my final picture - melting snow on the lavender plants that I put in last spring.
Had a lazy day. Read the Sunday paper (nearly), caught up on some ironing and will soon be thinking about tea. Heard part of a recipe on the radio for rice pudding with Pedro Ximénez sherry as one of the ingredients and have been wanting to try it. Couldn't find the original recipe so I
shoved some pudding rice in the oven about an hour and a half ago with some mik, sugar, nutmeg and cardamoms. Hoping to add the Pedro Ximénez when we serve it. Perfect wintery comfort food.
