Miserable Dad

The photo shows the first dusting of snow at Caversham where Clare's brother Mark lives. Whilst Clare and Samantha are excited at the prospect of snow with 2 to 4 inches forecast Joshua appears to have a "take it or leave it" attitude.
I find myself completely unmoved and in a sort of limbo, a feeling not dissimilar to that which I went through in March 2008.
Those who know me will know that I am a huge rugby fan, passionate when it comes to England, yet I couldn't be bothered to watch or listen, only finding out the result through the car radio as we were driving home.
I know this bout of 'low' will pass as the days pass it is caused in part by the feeling of helplessness and in part by the forced optimism being displayed for the children's benefit, not just Samantha and Joshua but also Sarah, Barry and the other 20 as well.
