The Promise of Spring

Argh...hard to say that, as we are still waiting on winter. Our weather continues to be so unsettled...rain, freezing rain, dusting of snow, and repeat! This is not the winter forecast by The Old Farmer's Almanac! (They had predicted colder and snowier than "unsual.)

This afternoon, as Murphy and I walked along the front garden, I was sure I had seen something green pressing up from under the leaf bed I had left from autumn. I bent low, and sure enough, a poor (what is it thinking )Hyacinth was poking bravely above the soil and leaves!

After photographing the poor springtime flower, I covered it up and advised it might better "go back to sleep"! After all, everyone keeps talking about when winter finally arrives.....
