Six Nations

As a boy the only time I really saw my Dad have a drink was during the Four or Five Nations Rugby, as it was back then.

He would sit by the fire with a glass of Brandy in hand kicking every ball and despairing as Andy Irvine failed once again to kick that ball between those two big stick things as Scotland lost heroically.

For some bizarre reason I would be supporting Wales, I know I must have been a terrible disappointment !!

I like to think he'll be watching tonight and I will raise a glass and kick every ball but this time supporting the nation of my birth..

(Problem is I don't like Brandy!!)
