Sue Foll's picture of the day

Work number 850

This is a part of a performance piece by Martin Creed at Tate Britain which surprisingly I was allowed to photograph.

The premis is that a person will run as fast as they can every 30 seconds through the gallery. Each run is followed by a 30 second pause. Creed instructs the runners to sprint as though their lives depended on it.

I would have loved to have been on my own in the gallery to fully experience the contrast between extreme activity and the peace in the pause between.

However there were clutches of little old ladies meandering around aimlessly for the runners to swerve around, also groups of tourists throwing their cameras in front of the runners like bull fighters in Spain.

I spent a great afternoon here with my friend Kate.
