3 km Ocean Swim

Earlier today over 100 swimmers took to the ocean at Cottesloe for a 3km swim to North Cottesloe.

This swim is an annual event run as a warm up to the 20km cross channel swim to Rottnest in March.

The pilon is the remains of a extended jetty which has been washed away for many years. It is a central focal point for a lot of beachside activities, including the mass start for todays swim.

I was an willing watcher, as ocean swimming is not really my strength !!!

I did however take a bundle of photos, then went back to my normal weekday morning friends for a coffee, a stong one today in preparation for a hectic weekend.
