Ice maintenance

Though it's been very cold lately the ice on Kallavesi and other lakes is quite thin since there's soft snow on the ice preventing the ice layer from getting thicker. The snow can't even be removed by a tractor since the ice isn't strong enough to carry a tractor. The guys in the distance are maintaining the ice by drilling holes and pumping water on ice. The snow is also tamped by snowmobiles and ATVs. They are a bit in a hurry. Kuopio Ice Marathon will take place in three weeks.
