Waverley steps

The new, covered, Waverley Steps (& escalators!) opened on Monday.

This was my first chance to use them -escalator up in morning, steps down on way home in evening (although I think for the good of my heal that should be vice versa!)

They do look very impressive, are dryer and warmer but I'm not yet convinced that I didn't prefer the old ones. But then this is progress and they are probably safer too.
