Back to Tokyo

The rain eased overnight but started again, just as I was packing my ground sheet away. Knowing it was going to be a mass exodus and long queues for the shuttle buses we'd all got up at the crack of dawn (although the boys bailed on Sunday night and went back to Tokyo because their tent leaked and their kit got wet!) and got ourselves packed up and waited in the train station instead!

Thoroughly enjoyed my longed-for shower back at the hotel and spent the afternoon with the others, mooching the trendy shops in Harajuku. Had supper in a Japanese Yakatori bar with Fin, who speaks Japanese so he could read the menu and order. Great food and beer. I tried sake too. Four bottles of the stuff later, followed by G&T from tins, back in the hotel and I really didn't think I was going to be able to get up again at the crack of dawn for something I wanted to do before I left Tokyo. The boys said I wouldn't manage it and that there was therefore no point in going to bed. I called it a night at 2.30am....
