Deadwood.
Back out on the moors with a bunch of students. Today a stepped stone path was rescued from below 20 years worth of soil and grass. Apart from the fact that it forms part of a well used walking route prior to our visit it would have been difficult to tell there was a stepped path there. Job done.
And they learnt why when an area of woodland is cleared a certain number of trees have to be left as 'deadwood'
