Flat

This word describes a lot.

First, I am walking the dog across this small river and the land around here is low-lying and FLAT. It's wet underfoot; marshy. The dog gets very dirty and needs a wash afterwards.

But the sky is totally grey so the light is very FLAT; no shadows and a lack of contrast.

And as I walk the dog I am FLAT. Problems with the house move and so I have spoken my mind. What will happen?

At the very end of the day my mood lightens - it looks like I will be moving! Not quite when I want but better than before. So no longer quite so FLAT!
