Iris histrio just opening. Also just in time ... a late night blip. Such are the joys of working long shifts, sometimes I only get to see my little beauties by flashlight.

Iris histrio, from Turkey in this instance, is closely related to Iris reticulata which is much more commonly grown. This form is a really good blue and has fabulous markings on the tongue of the fall.
