Roger Williams was born in London in 1603 and came to Boston with his family at the age of ten. In 1636 he broke with The Church of England and left Massachusetts to found the Colony of Providence Plantations, later to become the "State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations". The smallest US State with the longest name ! and the 13th of the original 13 States.
