Two blocks from our new apartment is the downtown branch of the Kansas City Public Library. I confess I am addicted to books so this is like having a dealer around the corner who doesn't charge.

Today I found two books that only days earlier I had considered buying, but since, as my friend Stewart says, "Not buying things is the new buying things," I did not buy them. Now I am very glad to have them for awhile. Not buying things is one thing, not having them, quite another.
