Inch by Inch

A big day for Miss L today - her first full day at nursery. It was chaos trying to get ready this morning. Obviously I'd left it to the last minute to write her name in her clothes and shoes and I hadn't packed a change of clothes, or nappies, or anything remotely useful.
And then somehow I had to get them both inside whilst carrying two coats, shoes, wellies, bags and hats..... Note to self, stop being such a packhorse and let them carry their own stuff!
And where do you go first? Miss E's room or Miss L's room?
Blimey, it's suddenly all got a bit more complicated!!!!
But she was fantastic - ran off to join the other children without even a backward glance. I of course got a bit teary seeing her march off. Obviously I'd much prefer that to a clinging wailing child but a little teeny hug would have been nice!
There were a few tears after lunch apparently because she was a bit fazed by having to lie down on mattresses with all the other kids for their nap. But one of the women cuddled her until she dozed off and all was well when she woke up.
I'm so proud of my little girl. And a little bit sad that she's not my baby anymore.....
I spent my day at leisure having a make up trial in John Lewis (not sure about the results) looking at Showhomes (which I love and keep forgetting we're not actually looking to move yet!) and trying to tidy the house for our inspection tomorrow (is it just me or do we have one every bloody five minutes?!!!)
