A Solitary Life
Driving through the pass on Mount Gabriel in thick drizzle, I was contemplating that a blip could be quite challenging today, when I noticed this goat, sat just above some sheer rocks. I quite often see her, sometimes she ventures onto the road but mostly she grazes this rocky mountain side. It is quite a common practice that goats are dumped on the wild mountain land around West Cork when their owners tire of them. They often form herds but this lady leads a very solitary life. I thought she looked very content but I wonder if she experiences loneliness ? She has been alone for years now!
