You take the high road.........

A last minute decision to hit the road jack and get a well earned break lead us to the bonny bonny banks of Loch Lomond, many a joke was made with reference to the infamous Scottish soap set in the vicinity of our beautiful hotel.

The weather however could not have been wetter if it tried, sadly we were unable to take advantage of our balcony overlooking the loch not even from the window could you admire the view due to the murkiness of the fog smothering the beautiful view like a smokescreen.

As always however we made the best of the situation drinking champagne like water and people watching in the bar. In the evening following our stunning meal we gate crashed a wedding, the bride and groom did not mind as we were one of few couples staying in the hotel who were not wedding guests.

Rather touchingly the children of the bride and groom came round with buckets collecting money for help the hero's, I'm unsure of what was raised however I do know pretty much everyone threw notes into the buckets rather than coins for this worthy cause.

As a thank you to us for our contribution the bride kindly gave us some wedding cake.
