Progress!

I thought today would be a bad day for weaning as Henry has got a bit of a cold and was struggling to breathe through his nose overnight - cue one tired grumpy baby this morning! However after a couple of good naps and a big sneeze (and covering me in snot), he's been in a pretty good mood!

He refused to have any breakfast so I left it, then we went to a friends house and although he was very interested in playing with my carrotcake he didn't want to eat any. We were having chicken, pesto and pasta for tea so I put a bit on his highchair tray and he loved it!

He sucked the pesto off the pasta, breaking the pasta into smaller bits which he then gagged a little on, but continued to pick up the small bits (with a surprisingly accurate pincer grip!) and suck them, then had a good gum on a chicken chunk and managed to eat about half of it!

I know I shouldn't get too excited, he ate maybe 1 cubic cm of chicken and half a pasta twirl, but he seemed to enjoy it and "get" eating for the first time. He had some water to drink out of my glass as well, he's still refusing to do anything other than chew on the various sippy cups we seem to be collecting!

Today's picture is actually from 2 days ago when I had a sore throat so was having an ice lolly until Henry decided he wanted it.
