Twin Town

Not the cleanest sign in the world, but interesting in that I found it in Maule Street, Carnoustie. Note the distance to Maule is 1345Km.
It points to (approximately directionally accurate I would say) Carnoustie's twin town of Maule in France.

Briefly, there were landowners called Maule very near to Carnoustie (Panmure Estate) who came from the area of France owned by the Maule family. Not uncommon in post Norman England and Scotland.
