Falls of Leny

If you head west out of Callander, pass the tourist traps mill shops at Kilmahog and keep on the A84, you will enter the Forest of Strathyre. To your left is a deep-cut fast flowing stream. You will come to a sign indicating a car park on your right. This is officially closed at the moment to allow for forestry work but there is room to slip in and leave the car. Walk back down and cross the road then follow the path along the iron railing. Stout footwear is advisable as the path is in need of a fair bit of remedial work. Due to the overhanging trees and branches, you should keep your eyes up until you reach the gate closing the path off.
This is what you will see - the Falls of Leny. At the moment they are quite subdued but a good day's heavy rain can turn this into a real maelstrom.
On a scale of one to ten where one equals a gentle stream and ten equals suicidal, I suspect this would currently rate three or four.
