The smoke shack

So this is the smoke shack where all sanity and distressing occurs, it's also whee we meet up for platoon meetings after formation. Of course we get yelled at constantly to police the area and clean it up. Typically the last person off has to take the trash out therefore this leads to people running like crazy...so far the weather here in San Antonio has been wonderful, nice 60-70 degrees with lows around 40 so in comparison to SC it's heaven. Of course anything outside of basic is great, our company is rather large at 375 privates...there's already been two article 15's handed out and for you civilian types those are bad. People stay off your phones here because they will jack you up. I must say AIT is a vast improvement due to cellular use along with more personal time. We started classes which equals death by PowerPoint for about eight hours a day. Those with any sort if scholastic background if the higher variety should go it fairly easy. We try and find people that have been through the program already and dig for information, this is typically useless but occasionally you get a good nugget. So at the End of this eight weeks we will be nationally certified EMT-B's which is nice we get roughly a years worth of college credit and it's one of the few military occupations that flips easily to civilian side. Word is suing our final FTX there's a chance we will get evacd by a blackhawk...something to look forward to. They are big on cadences here out company motto is like a paragraph long and I hear hooah about a hundred times a day. Believe me we get tired of it. We also run extremely long days typically 17 to18 hours...so until you wind up believing 6:30 is a late wake up count yourself lucky. Anyway I just wanted to give people a chance to see what life was like for me here. I will update more tommorow.
