St Bega's church nr Bassenthwaite Lake

Some friends of ours have hired a cottage for the week in Bassenthwaite village so yesterday i finished work a couple of hrs early and we drove up to stay overnight.

The sun Inn in the village can be highly recommended for the food and Jennings Cumberland Ale. We had a great evening in there.

This morning we enjoyed a stroll from the cottage down to the lake shore passing the church.

I didn't realise until today that there are many links with King Arthur in this area.

A proper good evening/day we've had!!
