Growing old disgracefully

THREE CHEERS FOR SUSTRANS

We are fortunate in living near a great network of cycle tracks and often use them for walks. I have seen them in a new way since we have taken our three year old grandson along them on his first bike. He notices everything - the green markings on the paving where the volunteers have indicated some work needs done; the green markings on trees that need cut down; the 'silver' trees and 'jaggy' brambles; the cones that have fallen on the path; the ballast at the side of the track, the sculpture - even the dog poo! In particular, he notices these symbols that indicate access to a track.

Our tracks are so well maintained and travel through such lovely countryside. Many thanks to the Sustrans volunteers who look after us so well.
