Redpoll at Loch of the Lowes

This is the best place to view birds I've ever been to! The SWT (Scottish Wildlife Trust) reserve at Loch of the Lowes outside Dunkeld is more famous for Ospreys in the summer but the feeding station outside the centre here is quite brilliant. You sit on a bench with huge viewing windows out onto a woodland patch with multiple feeders (seed, niger and peanut) and watch the dozens of species which come to visit. This female Redpoll was one of a pair and she landed on the niger feeder right outside the window giving fabulous views. This is the first Redpolls my b/f has ever seen so he was well chuffed! Not the best of photos as the light was going and it was through the glass but oh well!

Can't believe how quickly the time went! Now back to reality and work tomorrow boohoo :(
