The old and the new

Right beside the modern flats are the cranes of Govan Shipyard, now run by BAE Systems and one of only two working yards left on the Clyde.
In the distance is the hammerhead crane of the former Barclay Curle yard in Whiteinch.
This blip was taken from the ultra-modern new Transport Museum at the mouth of the Kelvin. First visit and a bit of a disappointment.
It doesn't seem too long ago that the Clyde in Glasgow was alive with vessels of all shapes and sizes. Some of the biggest ships in the world were built here.
