#2 ~ Two Shoes ~ Two Memories

My son's first shoes and my Father's first books - two memories for this week's theme.

Dad bought Swallows and Amazons in 1946 just at the end of the war with his pocket money. Arthur Ransome wrote his books based on Lake Windermere, just a couple of miles from my Grandparents home in the English Lake District. Made the books even more magical, knowing where the places were.

Funny how you keep bits n' pieces like these.
