Iron age house
This is a place near my house where I go for a walk most weekends (and during the week during holidays) There is a Norse (Viking) village buried in the sands and several Iron-Age houses and relics - lots of broken pottery and a few human skeletons are uncovered every so often. This is a shot of a chambered Iron-Age (?) house that is slowly being uncovered as the sands are blown away by the winter gales. It is awesome to see these dry-stane walls slowly revealed. You can see the foundations of a wall appearing from the mid-centre of the photo curving round to the bottom right. I love this place!
