Goodbye Doris and Clifton!

Work: today we took down the council's 'Budget Consultation' banner from the Library hallway and waved a sad goodbye to this charming, toothsome twosome. I named them after a pleasant elderly couple from St. Louis that we met in Monument valley. Actually, since they're slightly bigger than life size - and the hallway in question is pretty small - they used to initially give whoever was opening up a fright, as you'd catch sight of them in the shadows from the corner of your eye whilst struggling with the lock and disabling the alarm, but I've manged to grow quite fond of them over the several months they've been in residence. And, let's face it, we could all use a bit of cheering up when it comes to balancing the budget!
