Building a home

I was on a raft trip on the Grand Canyon and had a horrible headache this day. So we parked our chairs in the shallow water and hung out in the shade of a salt cedar. I noticed this little guy making trips back and forth across the river collecting mud and managed to capture a nice shot of one of the mud balls he was preparing to carry off to the other side of the river.

It was interesting to watch because to a wasp, not all mud is acceptable...apparently there is good mud and there is bad mud. He was very picky.
