Windwick

A wild day on the east side of the island. The tide was high and the waves were breaking up the cliffs. The two pillars of rock are sea stacks, similar to the Old Man of Hoy, but a good bit smaller.

Our visitor left this evening, so this morning we had a bit of a drive around to show her some of the scenery we'd missed over the last couple of days! She was suitably impressed, but decided she was happy with her retirement choice of a home in Puglia after all!

You can't really make them out in this, you might if you look at it larger, but the ledges on the cliffs are covered in birds, fulmars, gulls and pigeons, sussing out the nesting options. Brave souls!
