Loving It
I'm delivering a cycling course tomorrow and the big n little boss are coming. I am actually nervous even though I love tutoring. Slight disaster as my beard trimmer had stopped functioning and I had planned to take it back for a replacement.....I forgot and the prospect of doing the course with a bushy unkempt ginga beard, I decided to go to the barber! Ha.... The look on the lady barber's face @ a bald man entering the establishment. My beard is now neat, albeit still ginga!
I decided to buy cycling weekly for the journey. I usually struggle with the magazine because my over inflated ego always tells me that I know better than the experts! I suppose I am an expert though!
Anyway, to the blip.....there was a really good article by Graham Obree... He was never a hero of mine, I always prefered Chris Boardman, which isn't good for a Scot to say. Anyway, I've subsequently met them both and even chatted with the latter whilst both naked (innocent I may add...it was the showers @ work) and, apart from being a shit cyclist, I've got more in common with Obree. He's slightly more insane than I am but only slightly.
Anyway, back to the article....he said lots of valid stuff about training and that training manuals tend to miss the importance of fun and psychological aspects of performance. Yay.....I have just addressed the omission too but will be a few months yet before it's in print.
