Dawn over Ostional
I took this photo just before dawn at 6:00 after a 6 hour shift at the hatchery. No baby turtles, but we did have a massive leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea) on the beach that layed 41 eggs that we transplanted to the hatchery. My host father reckons we'll see the arrivada, the mass arrival of Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) to lay their eggs on the beach, unique to Playa Ostional.
