Its Going Down

Such a lazy start to the day - perfect for a day off. Spent the afternoon trying to re-kindle some long lost baking skills. Made my own sweet shortcrust pastry for the first time in decades. Those became part of some peach and apricot tarts. Which were not too bad. Used the whites of the eggs to make some meringues, but added too much food dye and they came out neon pink!

I also made some flapjack with cashew nuts which are mighty fine.

The only problem is neither Mr Lif nor I have a sweet tooth so they are now in tins and may well end up in the dogs bellies :)

Jake has sent some more emails from Texas. He is having a ball. They won their first footie match and they are off to NASA today (not the crocodile centre). There are some pics on the team blog but they are tiny AM Soccer blog

Time for a wee wine and a chill I think. Have a great weekend. The weather is set fair for some decent walking tomorrow :D
