STAMP COLLECTING

I was sorting the used postage stamps out for the charity bag and found these. I especially like the ones from Eire. I exchange birthday and Christmas cards with a friend in Lismore and the postage stamps on the envelopes to me are always attractive. I must ask her if they have the normal 1st and 2nd class stamps which we have or whether they always have themed stamps.

We all seemed to collect stamps when I was young and had albums with stamps from different countries in sections. I must have got these from a similar source to where I am sending all mine now. I remember there were always a lot of stamps from India, on very thin paper and much the same as our run of the mill stamps of today.

I also remember the Stanley Gibbons book, which I am sure had an orange cover.

I just wish I could remember what I did with that Penny Black .....
