Swimming Against The Tide

Wood Shavings!

So, life started to progress towards the new "normal" today. "Normal" without Dex, which will be very different from "normal" with him.

And I backblipped all the outstanding blips from the last 4 days - I was a bit behind!

This morning was a frozzling one. The Wonderspouse went off to work, and I came home and cleaned out the hamster cages. After I'd done Laura's she decided (in her typical, hamsterish fashion) that she wanted to make some adjustments. She was making a lot of noise until about 3 this afternoon, moving food around, making beds, and also kicking wood shavings out onto my newly hoovered study. I swept them up with a dustpan and brush, since I didn't want to carry the hoover upstairs again! Now she's all curled up, a cute little ball of light brown fur, looking as if butter wouldn't melt!

I decamped to the bedroom to practise my viola, since she was making so much noise. Hopefully the Telemann will be OK on Sunday.

I also had a quick trip into town. I had to do a bit of banking, and while I was there I checked the tyres at the garage (so much easier than pumping them up using the foot pump). One of them definitely has a slow puncture. Not much I can do about it though, so I pumped it up again and will hope for the best. My poor old car is really limping along at the moment - the Wonderspouse has even told me he's getting nervous about travelling these days because it's so rickety. I'm employing a technique I learned by watching Ice Road Truckers - when they're driving on thin ice and they hear cracking, they turn the stereo up. If my car develops another rattle, I turn the music up!

Fortunately I'm well at the moment, so living without Dex and the car falling to bits are not sending me into a tailspin. The poor Wonderspouse is struggling more, and I'm having to take care of him - MiL has a big oncology appointment next week too, so I think he's worrying about that.

Today, however, MiL has a birthday, which is good! :-)
