Topside Teviot

Teviot Row House is the oldest purpose-built Student Union Building in the world, having opened in 1889, apparently on a Saturday in October (according to good ol' Wikipedia). I wonder if it was the Saturday of Freshers' Week? What did little Freshers look like in 1889? Probably like Lord Snooty from The Beano!

Mind you, you still see a few these days who look like Lord Snooty - at least until they start running out of clean clothes (around week 4 of the semester).
