Smoky island
There was a slightly different feel to the morning, with some ominous looking clouds out to sea and the usual seasonal smoke hanging over the valley. I had a pointless trip to the other side, so made the best of it with an explore of the hinterland of Palma. I must spend some time documenting the land around the city before any more disappears. On the edges of the indeustrial estates, the almond groves are beginning to blossom. It's an odd no man's land.
I'm glad I got some palms in this shot though (cropped to remove the morning traffic between Soller and the Port). I met with some friends who were mourning the loss of their best plam tree thanks to this nasty little beast. Be on the look out! Sadly it seems something could have been done if people had fair warning it was about in the valley. Let's hope they stop it spreading.
Meanwhile, the next phase of the window is complete and paint bought. Very exciting (I know, small things...) And so to the weekend. We're expecting a flying visit tomorrow from Captain Mike, which should be fun. Have a great one everyone.
