The Quality of an Obsession

A picture of the cover of one of my Dad's scrapbooks. This one is from the 1960s. The central photo is of him at some point in the 60s - posing, it seems to me, as Bertrand Russell.

Is my notebook obsession 'nature or nurture', I wonder...

The sellotaped snippets include:

"Christine Powell, aged 22, an immigrant from Trinidad, was yesterday bound over to keep the peace by Nottingham magistrates, following an incident on the third day of the second test between England and South Africa at Trent Bridge.

Mr Peter Foot, prosecuting, said: 'After tea Miss Powell ran on to the pitch naked and (illegible) a fielder, ripping off his trousers and screaming: "Make love not segregation", to which the player replied "How's that", and Miss Powell whispered "Not in".

"The quality of an obsession should be measured not only by its height but also by its length. Ingmar Bergman's towering concern has endured a lifetime: the silence of God."

Song for the day - a favourite song of mine from 1984 - Animotion 'Obsession'.
