Ready for the exam

This is my entomology textbook, still with the quick reference tabs I put in for the final exam 12 years ago. It was an "open book" exam - you could take in whatever references or notes you wanted. One chap had a stack of books and papers about a foot high and (predictably) spent most of the exam looking for the information he was after, rather than writing his answers (I told him...).
I took just this. It contained everything I needed and I did quite well in that particular exam. I love open-book exams - you don't have to memorise everything, you just have to know where to find the information and how to interpret it. Like in Real Life, right?
You have to be organised of course, but in getting organised, you accidentally do quite a lot of revision. Works for me!
I've had this book out of the shelf a fair bit lately. Whenever somebody posts an insect blip I start to delve into it again.

If you're interested, the adorable looking caterpillar on the cover is Antheraea polyphemus, the larva of one of the common giant silkworm moths (it gets to four inches long). This is not the commercial silkworm - that's Bombyx mori.
A silk producing industry based on A. polyphemus has not arisen, because the silk threads are more coarse than those of B. mori. According to this book.

This blip is for those having Vodkaman withdrawals (a poor substitute, I know).
