Rising Water
This is the only main road in and out of Yamba and this was taken about 12.30 this afternoon. The river is to the right just behind the trees. The rain has stopped but the river continues to rise with masses of water coming down from the tablelands and inland.
It's nearly 6pm now and the road is completely underwater and no traffic is coming in or out. We should all be ok but I'm feeling for a lot of the other areas around us that are flooding or will go under in the next couple of days.
I have stocked up on a lot of supplies - enough to last at least a week but who knows how severe this one will be. Last year we were isolated for about 5 days but I've a feeling this one won't last as long - they do bring in emergency supplies by boat and helicopter if necessary.
I didn't get any wine supplies in so I hope the bottle shops don't run out :)
We ordered some online just the other day but that won't get here now.
