scrap metal

This is a small part of the collection of old instruments I inherited when I took on Chairman of the St Ives Town band. The trouble is that no one wants to play large brass instruments now and they are little more than scrap metal. We have looked at selling them but no one wants them so they just sit in the corner collecting dust.

Today everyone wants to play Sax, Guitar or Drums so its getting harder and harder to keep bands going. We changed to a Concert band a few years ago to accommodate this and now have mostly Saxes of various sizes, flutes and drums but its still not easy to get new players.
